Fräıssé limits for infinite relational languages

چکیده
We study Fräıssé limits for certain Fräıssé classes over infinite relational languages that behave similarly to those for finite languages. These include the Fräıssé classes of finite simplicial complexes, finite hypergraphs, and Sperner families on finite sets. With a natural choice of measure we show that almost all countable structures whose finite substructures lie in such a class are isomorphic to the Fräıssé limit, and a corresponding 0-1 law holds for finite models. In particular, we obtain a new 0-1 law for simplicial complexes, different from the previously known one due to Blass and Harary.

Zero-One Laws, Random Graphs, and Fräıssé Limits
While at first glance the fields of logic and probability may appear as immiscible as oil and water, a closer look reveals that probabilistic questions about logic often have surprisingly elegant and powerful answers. For instance, one might wonder “What is the probability that a certain sentence in a certain logic holds for a randomly chosen structure?” Though in many cases this question will ...
متن کاملKolmogorov complexity and symmetric relational structures
We study partitions of Fra¨ıssé limits of classes of finite relational structures where the partitions are encoded by infinite binary strings which are random in the sense of Kolmogorov-Chaitin.
متن کاملA Comparative Analysis of Institutional Identities in a Corpus of English and Persian News Interviews
Institutional identity as a concept in CDA is a field of study that deals with the identities that individuals in institutions obtain, one that merits deep research attention. News interviews as institutional instances can be analyzed based on the impersonal structures because interviewees see themselves as part of the institution and they may not take responsibility when they encounter problem...
متن کاملFrom relational to deductive databases
This paper highlights the limits of current implementations of SQL and shows how they can be overcome with deductive approaches. Deductive query languages subsuming relational ones must include constructors to allow users for submitting queries semantically equivalent to their relational counterparts. As deductive languages are based on first order predicate logic, they are able to capture rela...
متن کاملManipulating Interpolated Data is Easier than You Thought
Data defined by interpolation is frequently found in new applications involving, for instance, geographical concepts, moving objects, and spatio-temporal data. This data leads to potentially infinite collections of items, (e.g. the elevation of any point in a map), whose definition is based on the association of a collection of samples with an interpolation function. We first argue that the man...
